USNS BENAVIDEZ Goes to War!    The large roll on/roll off ship, USNS Benavidez, christened in 2001 and completed in 2003 is now taking an active part in the war in Iraq.  The above three pictures are courtesy of Master Sergeant Dale Clay, a native of El Campo, Texas, Roy Benavidez's home town.   In the center picture the last of the equipment of a US unit is seen offloading from the ship in Kuwait.  The ship then began loading the equipment of units that are returning to the States.
