Valor Remembered's Memorial Projects   Valor Remembered was formed by a group of American combat veterans to answer a need: many American heroes are being forgotten because the process of commemoration is filled with obstacles.  We have founded Valor Remembered for the purpose of developing memorials to preserve the memory and legacy of some of these heroes.   Two extraordinary men, veterans of the war in Vietnam will be memorialized in our first two projects.  They are the late Master Sergeant Roy P Benavidez, USA Special Forces and the late Major Stephen W. Pless, USMC.

Sculptures    We will create traditional sculptural monuments in metal and stone that capture the essence of great moments in America's legacy of valor.  Artists and historians will work together studying the documented history as well as individual "oral" histories collected from surviving participants and witnesses, to develop works of art that illustrate the chosen events.

Virtual Memorial    Interactive virtual memorials on the internet will be developed, based upon the historical research that is being done for each project.  If funding permits  terminals will be provided at the monument sites that will allow access to the virtual memorial and its historical archives.  These will educate visitors while collecting additional historical information.

Permanent Organization    The founders of  Valor Remembered recognize the need for a permanent national organization with expertise in mobilizing the efforts of various individuals, associations, communities, and families to bring significant memorial projects to completion.  Valor Remembered plans to build that permanent organization  and our first two memorial projects, the Roy P. Benavidez Memorial, and the Stephen W. Pless Memorial, will be but the first of many.
